Fernando Senties-Nieto, a 33-year-old doctor, disappeared on November 15, 2013, following a tragic airplane accident. He was aboard a Learjet 35 that crashed about a mile offshore from Fort Lauderdale Airport, Florida. The flight was en route to Cozumel, Mexico, when the accident occurred shortly after takeoff. Senties-Nieto, a well-regarded hyperbaric medicine specialist from Cozumel, was one of four people on the plane, including a nurse, Mariana González Isunza, and two pilots.
