It was approximately 6:30 p.m. when he told his wife he was going to a store to pick up some items for a party they were planning. He was a father of two adult children and, according to his wife, always maintained close contact with his family, never leaving for any extended period without letting them know his whereabouts. That evening, however, he did not return home.
His wife's attempts to reach him by phone and text were unsuccessful, prompting her to contact the local police. A Silver Alert was subsequently issued as concern for his welfare grew.
The search for Lawrence McIntosh took a troubling turn just two days later. On January 2, 2014, his vehicle, a 2004 Suzuki, was discovered abandoned in the parking lot of a Geissler's Supermarket in the nearby town of East Windsor. After more than seven years with no contact or evidence of his whereabouts, a probate court declared Lawrence McIntosh legally deceased in 2021.
