Warren Hagyard, a 79-year-old man from Pioneer, California, went missing on April 21, 2014, after leaving his son's home in Elk Grove. He was driving his blue 2006 Honda Civic and was believed to be heading toward Sacramento. Due to a heart condition and possible disorientation, a Silver Alert was issued shortly after his disappearance.
Hagyard's vehicle was later found stuck in a creek bed near Pyramid Lake in Nevada, about 10 miles from the nearest trailhead. The car, with the windows partially down and the keys left inside, was discovered by a person who was four-wheeling in the area on May 3, 2014. Despite a search effort by the Washoe County Sheriff's Office, including a helicopter search, no signs of Hagyard were found near the vehicle, and there was nothing suspicious about the car itself. Despite continued search efforts, Hagyard remains missing, and his case is unsolved.
Hagyard’s disappearance has left his family and authorities puzzled, as no clear evidence has surfaced regarding his whereabouts after he left his son’s residence.
