At the time he went missing, Cody was described as a white male, standing between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 7 inches tall, and weighing between 145 and 150 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.
A significant identifying feature is a large scar on his chest from a past open-heart surgery. Concern for his well-being was heightened by the fact that he required daily medication which he did not have with him.
There are slightly varying descriptions of the clothing Cody was wearing on the day he vanished. One account describes him in a brown jacket and an orange cap. Another report states he was wearing a red or brown t-shirt, a blue jean fleece-lined jacket, light-colored blue jeans, and white and black Nike sneakers. He was also known to be wearing several pieces of distinctive jewelry, including five large rings, one of which had an eagle on it, and a three-inch gold cross necklace. His medium-length brown hair might have been cut on the day he went missing, and he had some stubble around his chin, jaw, and mustache area.
