James Edward Laws, 21, was last seen on November 22, 1980, in Asheville, North Carolina. He lived with a roommate in a trailer on Sweeten Creek Road. The day before his disappearance, he called his mother from a nearby payphone at the Hot Spot convenience store, and their conversation appeared normal. However, he vanished the next day without a trace.
