In the autumn of 2019, the life of 53-year-old Nickolas Randall Saling, a man whose existence was deeply intertwined with the sea, took a tragic turn. On October 20th, the experienced sailor embarked on a solo trip from Bellingham, Washington, to Cypress Island. Born in Seattle, he had been brought home from the hospital to live on his family's sailboat, which sparked a lifelong passion for maritime adventures.
