Robert Gerald Vanzant, aged 35, was last seen on May 23, 1991, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He had left his maroon Dodge van at a residence where he was last seen with friends, before departing with another man, Larry Charles Easley, in a blue 1990 Pontiac Grand Am. The two were reportedly heading to Guthrie, Oklahoma, but it is unclear if they ever reached their destination. Easley was seen after Vanzant's disappearance, but Vanzant was never heard from again.
