Michael Henry Wasik, a 41-year-old man, was last seen on February 9, 2002, at a homeless shelter located on Union Street in Jacksonville, Florida. Originally from New York, he had moved south, traveling through Virginia before arriving in Jacksonville. His family had last been in contact with him in September 2001. Following a series of personal struggles, including the breakdown of his marriage, the loss of his job, and custody of his children, Wasik began drinking heavily, and it is believed
he became homeless around the time of his disappearance.
At the time of his disappearance, Wasik was described as standing 5'7" tall and weighing approximately 240 pounds. He was known to wear baggy pants and flannel shirts in cooler weather and had distinctive tattoos, including a dragon on his right forearm and a skull on his left forearm. Despite an investigation by local authorities, Wasik has not been heard from since leaving the shelter that day. His family, including his four siblings, continues to seek answers, but his case remains unsolved, with no significant leads regarding his whereabouts.
Investigators have maintained an open file on the case, but despite Wasik’s close relationship with his family, they have not received any updates or communication from him since his disappearance.
