Marc William Oestrike, a 21-year-old U.S. Marine Corps veteran, was last seen by his parents on July 4, 2002, in Fort Myers, Florida. His disappearance remains a mystery with several unusual circumstances surrounding the case. Marc had reportedly been involved in a serious car accident just two months before he vanished, suffering multiple injuries, including broken vertebrae and facial lacerations. Despite medical advice, he discarded his back brace and sling before fully healing.
