Rayman Handy, a 43-year-old man, went missing on January 20, 2007, from Fountain Valley, California. On the day of his disappearance, Handy drove his dark blue Honda Accord to the Fremont Peak area with plans to go hiking. His car was later discovered parked on a dirt patch with a hand-drawn map of the area inside, suggesting he intended to explore the region. Despite being an experienced hiker with over 20 years of outdoor knowledge, Handy vanished, and no trace of him has been found.

At the time of his disappearance, temperatures in the area dropped significantly, reaching below freezing at night, which raised concerns about his safety. Authorities believe he may have succumbed to the elements, although an extensive search of the area yielded no results. While his body has never been recovered, law enforcement suspects a mishap during the hike led to his death. Handy had a background in chemistry and an interest in electronics, having studied at the University of California, Irvine.

The case remains open, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Fountain Valley Police Department.
