In the late autumn of 2009, Joel Wesley Grace was a familiar face in his community in Leesville, Louisiana. At 57 years old, he was known by the nickname 'Black' to some. Mr. Grace lived a simple life at the Shady Oaks Trailer Park on Pitkin Road. Having been recently laid off from his job at Fort Polk, he was anticipating a call to be rehired.
