His truck, however, was discovered abandoned and still running on the Interstate 10 bridge over the Mississippi River in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in the early morning hours of August 29, 2014. Reports from that time indicate that police received an anonymous call about someone sitting on the bridge rail next to a pickup truck. Another caller reported seeing the driverless truck, noting that the lights were on and it looked "spooky". Shortly after, an anonymous call to police claimed someone had jumped from the bridge. A search of the river was conducted, but Jake's body was not found. Inside his truck, authorities found his cell phone, cigarettes, and a recently purchased trolling motor.
