Ivan Mercado, a 36-year-old man from Perth Amboy, New Jersey, went missing on January 9, 2015. He was last seen near the Edison Bridge on Route 9 northbound in Sayreville, where he exited his vehicle and reportedly jumped into the Raritan River around 4:50 PM. This incident was witnessed, and it led to an immediate search, though his body was never recovered.
