Ember was reported missing from her crib by her father, Matthew Graham, on July 2, 2015. She suffered from a seizure disorder, requiring daily medication, which made her case particularly urgent. Authorities quickly named Matthew as a person of interest due to inconsistencies in his statements and his lack of cooperation with investigators.
Matthew initially claimed he left Ember sleeping in a playpen at their home while he smoked marijuana and then passed out. When he woke up, he found her missing. However, surveillance footage showed him driving with Ember the night she disappeared, and further searches found a pacifier with Ember's DNA near a remote area. Tragically, Matthew Graham was killed in a police shootout on July 13, 2015, after fleeing from authorities, leaving many unanswered questions about his daughter’s fate.
