Homero Román, a 30-year-old man, disappeared on August 25, 2015, while attempting to cross the U.S.-Mexico border near Falfurrias, Texas. Originally from Houston, Román had been deported after a traffic violation. He attempted to adjust to life in Mexico, a country he barely remembered, but eventually decided to return to the U.S. through an illegal border crossing.
