Summary based on the NamUs case record (MP32747) and 6 other sources
Theresa Vernell Jones, aged 17, was last seen on September 1, 1980, in Alvin, Texas. She was supposed to meet her sister in Houston to give her a ride home, but she never arrived, and she has not been heard from since. At the time of her disappearance, Theresa was driving a primer-gray Chevrolet, possibly a late 1960s model Impala or Nova, which has also never been located. She was last living near Highway 6 in Alvin.

Theresa’s case has remained unsolved for over four decades. Adding to the tragedy, her older sister, Gina Ladonna Gibbs, was murdered in 1982, a case that also remains unsolved. There has been speculation that these two events may be connected, but no conclusive evidence has been found. Despite extensive efforts by law enforcement and her family, Theresa's fate and the location of her car remain mysteries.

Theresa had a tattoo of a rose on her right shoulder and a slight gap between her upper front teeth, both of which could be distinguishing characteristics. The case is still being investigated, with the Alvin Police Department and the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office remaining involved in hopes of resolving it.
