Ronald Sallee Missing Person Case

Ronald Gale Sallee, 40, went missing on September 2, 1989, while camping in the Ansel Adams Wilderness, located within the Sierra National Forest in Madera County, California. Sallee, along with friends, was on a Labor Day weekend trip where they planned to hike the Cassidy Trail and fish along the San Joaquin River. During the hike, Sallee slipped and, after getting back up, began acting strangely. At some point, he became separated from the group and never arrived at the campsite. His friends fired shots into the air, hoping to signal their location, but Sallee did not respond and was never seen again.

Sallee was reported missing a few days later, prompting a search effort, but no trace of him or his belongings, which included a blue backpack and red sleeping bag, was ever found. At the time of his disappearance, he was described as a Caucasian male, standing 6 feet tall, weighing 185 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes. He had a distinctive tattoo of a sun with rays on his body.

Despite extensive search efforts and ongoing inquiries, Sallee remains missing, and no new leads have surfaced. His case is classified as a lost/injured missing person.
