Kelly Jo McCrary, a 22-year-old woman from Anderson, Indiana, was last seen on June 8, 1991. She left her home around 1:00 a.m. to begin her shift as a customer relations supervisor at C.I.C. Enterprises in Indianapolis, but she never arrived at work. Kelly's vehicle, a black 1981 Buick Century, was found abandoned about 20 days later in the parking lot of Community Hospital North in Indianapolis.
Inside the trunk, investigators found 29 strands of her hair, but there were no signs of blood or any other significant evidence.
Kelly had been experiencing significant marital issues with her husband, James McCrary, with whom she shared two young children. According to her friends, Kelly expressed fears that James would come after her if she attempted to leave him. In November 1993, James was charged with Kelly’s murder after a female friend of his claimed that he had confessed to accidentally killing her during an argument. However, in 1995, James was acquitted of the charges, with the jury stating that there was insufficient evidence to convict him, despite multiple testimonies from jail cellmates and Kelly's coworkers.
Despite these developments, Kelly’s body has never been found, and her disappearance remains unsolved. Her case continues to be classified as a suspicious missing person case due to the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.Last Seen: Jun 8, 1991
