Vickie Ramona Baliel, age 40, was last seen on August 24, 1997, in Hemet, California. She left her residence on West Central Avenue around 9:00 p.m. and never returned. Vickie suffers from multiple medical conditions, including depression, schizophrenia, and high ammonia levels in her liver, which can cause disorientation if she does not take her required medications. Her family and authorities were concerned that without her medication, she might become confused or even fall into a coma.
