Rebekah Rachel Miller, 33, was last seen in Modesto, California, on October 15, 2002. At the time of her disappearance, she was homeless and was seen rummaging through a dumpster behind a shopping center on Oakdale Road around 3:00 a.m. Later, her personal belongings, including her bicycle, wallet, backpacks, and bead collection, were found near the dumpster.
Despite her difficult circumstances, it was uncharacteristic for Rebekah to leave her belongings behind, and she has not been heard from since.
Rebekah had a history of bipolar disorder and drug addiction, primarily methamphetamine. She had been off her medication at the time of her disappearance. Prior to becoming homeless, she had been a loving mother to three teenage children and was known to visit them regularly. She had separated from her husband about a year before her disappearance but was still legally married, and she was in a new relationship at the time.
Rebekah's family, including her grandmother, who played a significant role in helping to raise her children, was deeply affected by her disappearance.
