In the spring of 2006, a teenage girl named Ashley Lee James disappeared from a shelter in Lakewood, Colorado. At 16 years old, Ashley had already experienced a difficult life. With no information about the whereabouts of her parents, she had been living on the streets before finding temporary refuge at a facility called The Gemini House.
