On July 28, 2006, 53-year-old Ralph Gordon Aiken, Jr. was one of three men who vanished while on a flight from Kenai, Alaska. He was aboard a blue and white, four-seat Aero Commander airplane for what should have been a 65-mile journey to Anchorage. Also on the flight were Ricky Posusta and Ian Beer. The purpose of the flight was reportedly for area familiarization for one of the pilots, involving flying at low altitudes.
