On December 3, 2007, a 25-year-old male flight paramedic named Cameron Carter was working aboard a LifeGuard medical helicopter when it vanished near Whittier, Alaska. The helicopter was transporting a patient, Gaye McDowell, from Cordova to a hospital in Anchorage. Also on board were the pilot, Lance Brabham, and a flight nurse, John Stumpff.
