Sheila Ann Lopes, a 71-year-old woman suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, went missing on August 27, 2008, from her home in Escondido, California. Despite her condition, she was considered mostly lucid. Sheila was last seen by her family around midnight in her residence in the gated community of Emerald Heights. The next morning, she was spotted wandering into a nearby house where her son used to live, but she was asked to leave by the new occupants. Sheila has not been heard from since.
