John Dunwell Samen, a 24-year-old man from South Boston, Virginia, went missing on December 6, 2009. He was last seen walking near North Main Street and College Street around 1:30 p.m. that day. Samen, who lived in a group home for adults, was reported missing after leaving the residence on foot. Witnesses later possibly spotted him in various locations, including L.P.
