On a Thursday morning in the fall of 2011, 49-year-old William James McSorley was waiting for a ride outside of a residence in Quakertown, Pennsylvania. It was September 29th, at approximately 8:00 a.m., on West Mill Street when a car approached and pulled up to the curb where he was standing. The vehicle was pointing west, in the direction of Route 309. Eyewitnesses saw McSorley, who was also known by the nicknames Bill or Willy, get into the back seat of the car. He has not been seen or heard from since that moment. The car then drove away, taking with it the last known whereabouts of the Bucks County resident.

At the time of his disappearance, William McSorley was described as a white male, standing at five feet eight to five feet nine inches tall and weighing between 230 and 250 pounds. He had graying hair that was balding on top with hair on the sides, and his eyes were blue. The report of his disappearance was not made to the Quakertown Borough Police Department until May 28, 2014, nearly two and a half years after he was last seen. The reasons for this delay in reporting are not publicly detailed. The lack of immediate investigation has undoubtedly complicated the efforts to piece together the events of that day and the subsequent time that has passed.
