His family last saw him in the Muldoon area of Anchorage, Alaska, on May 15, 2012, and he has not been heard from since. At the time of his disappearance, Turnage, also known as Cordell Eugene Piere, was described as a Black male, standing at 5'9" and weighing around 175 pounds. He had brown eyes and his head was shaved. Distinctive features include tattoos of the name "Maggie" alongside a heart on his chest and a panther on his right shoulder. Family members grew increasingly worried due to Turnage's health issues. He has diabetes and required daily medication, which they stated he was not taking regularly at the time he went missing. This lack of consistent medical care created a precarious situation, adding to the urgency of finding him. His family expressed fears to the police that because of his health condition, he might have wandered off and succumbed to the elements or that he could have met with foul play. The Anchorage Police Department opened an investigation into his disappearance, but years have passed without any contact from Turnage.
