Later the same day, the Davie County Sheriff's Office received calls from concerned neighbors about a man walking in the woods without a shirt or shoes and acting erratically. When law enforcement returned to the location, Andy's Jeep remained, but he was gone. The man's behavior, described by witnesses as 'talking out of his head,' was alarmingly out of character for the Andy his family knew. His mother, Gail Sigmon, expressed that her son was always in contact with someone and that it was highly unusual for him to be in Mocksville, let alone to abandon his vehicle.
