David Karl Heitman, a 42-year-old Marine Corps veteran, was last seen on April 19, 2016, in Columbia, Missouri. His last known contact was with a social worker, during which he mentioned plans to visit a lake with a friend. Over two months later, when the social worker visited his home in early June, it was found empty.
