George Edward Kuehne, 55, was last seen on August 24, 2016, after leaving a nursing home in Venice, Florida, due to the cessation of his insurance coverage. Kuehne, who had sustained severe brain and spinal injuries from a past car accident, required a wheelchair or walker for mobility and depended on medications. He took a medical transport to Hollywood, Florida, intending to live with Christine Wagner, a woman he had met online. Kuehne remained in contact with his family until September 1, 2016, after which all communication ceased. According to Wagner, on September 6, he left her home with two unidentified men in a white van, and he has not been seen since.
Authorities grew suspicious when it was discovered that Wagner had used $3,000 from Kuehne's debit card, a claim she justified by saying he gave her permission. However, Kuehne’s family disputed this, describing him as cautious with money. Notably, since his disappearance, Kuehne has not accessed his bank accounts, and his disability checks remain uncashed, heightening concerns for his safety. His Medicare card, which he would have needed for essential medications, also remains unused.
The circumstances surrounding his disappearance, especially his vulnerability and Wagner's questionable involvement, have led his family to fear the worst. The Hollywood Police Department continues to investigate the case, urging anyone with information to come forward. Kuehne’s family believes he is likely deceased, but his case remains unresolved.
