Junelle Marquard, a 21-year-old woman from Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, was last seen on August 20, 1999, in Nekoosa, Wisconsin. She disappeared alongside her friend, Dayna Menger, and Dayna's two-year-old son, Dakota. The three were last seen dropping off Dayna's four-year-old daughter at a babysitter's home, after which they left without explaining where they were going or what they planned to do.
When Dayna failed to return to pick up her daughter, the babysitter initially did not raise concern, as it was not unusual for Dayna to leave her child for several days. However, after weeks passed with no contact, the babysitter alerted authorities.
Both women were known to be involved in drugs and had become estranged from their families. Despite their troubled pasts, there was no indication they were running from the law. Junelle and Dayna’s disappearances, along with Dakota's, remain unsolved, and foul play is suspected. Police were not informed of the disappearances until 2004, when Dayna’s brother reported her missing. Junelle has never been officially reported missing, but authorities are seeking her in connection with the other two cases.
