Clinton Thompson, a 41-year-old man, was last seen around December 1, 2011, in Franklin County, Texas. The exact date of his disappearance remains uncertain because he was not reported missing until 45 days later. Thompson had been involved in a violent altercation before he disappeared, during which he sustained head injuries and possibly a broken arm. On the day of his disappearance, he was last seen walking from his home on County Road 1350 toward County Road 1200.
He briefly stopped at a residence near County Road 1250 before being observed walking on FM 1896 at the edge of Franklin County.
Thompson's case took an unusual turn when, on February 10, 2012, his wallet was mysteriously mailed back to his home in an envelope with no return address. Authorities have been unable to determine who sent the wallet or where it was found. Despite extensive searches and investigations, there have been no further clues regarding his whereabouts. His case remains open and is considered suspicious due to the violent circumstances leading up to his disappearance.
