José was born on October 3, 1984 in Mexico, and lived in Mazatlan, Sinaloa, MX prior to his disappearance. When he was 27, he began his journey to the United States in Sásabe, Sonora, MX. José made it across the border, but developed blisters on his feet and was left behind near Sells, AZ by the ‘coyote,’ who also provided him with a cellphone.
