Melanie Marie James, a 21-year-old Native American woman, was last seen on April 20, 2014, in Farmington, New Mexico. On that day, her sister spotted her walking near McKinley Elementary School with an unidentified man. Melanie had told her family she planned to apply for jobs and return home by 5:00 p.m., but she never arrived. Days later, her duffel bag and purse were found hidden in an alleyway near 20th Street.
