In the quiet area of Telford, Tennessee, 53-year-old Lisa Maria Cloyd was last seen at her home around July 20, 2017. Her son reported her missing on August 3, 2017, telling authorities that the lack of contact with his mother was strange and unexpected. At the time of her disappearance, Lisa was described as being 4 feet 10 inches tall, weighing about 120 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office began an investigation into her disappearance, a case that would soon take a dark and troubling turn.
Shortly after Lisa was reported missing, investigators sought to speak with her husband, Curtis Cloyd. When deputies arrived at their residence, an encounter involving a handgun led to Curtis being wanted for reckless endangerment. He had a history of domestic assault, including a previous charge involving his wife.
