Kenneth Wayne Hilscher, 36 years old, was last seen on April 8, 1995, in Bloomington, Texas. A beloved basketball coach and teacher at Bloomington High School, Hilscher was well-known and respected in the small community. On the day of his disappearance, Hilscher visited his parents’ home on Black Bayou Road #2. Although his father invited him to stay the night, he declined and left, never to be seen again.
Two days later, on April 10, Hilscher’s father reported him missing.
The same day, searchers discovered bloodstained clothing, including a t-shirt and men’s underwear, near Old Bloomington Road, about 1.5 miles from Hilscher's residence. Blood tests confirmed that the stains were likely Hilscher’s, and investigators suspect he had been shot multiple times based on the blood pattern on the clothes.
Authorities have suspected foul play in Hilscher’s case since these findings, but despite extensive searches and investigations, no trace of his body has been found. The case is classified as a homicide due to the nature of the blood evidence, but remains unsolved.
