Jani Thompson, also known as Jan Scharf, was last seen on May 14, 2002, in Cameron Park, California. At the time, she was in the process of separating from her estranged husband, Glyn Scharf, but they were still living together. Jani worked as an emergency room nurse at the University of California, Davis Medical Center, and was planning for her daughter's upcoming wedding and other trips, making her disappearance highly unusual.
