Leverne Berry, a 79-year-old man from Waxahachie, Texas, was last seen on the morning of August 7, 2017. He was reported missing by his wife after she awoke to find him gone from their home in the 400 block of Wyatt Street, near downtown Waxahachie. Leverne had last been seen sitting on his porch, and it is believed that he walked away from the residence early that morning. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing blue jeans and a long-sleeved maroon and beige shirt.
Leverne is described as having a salt-and-pepper beard, standing around 5’8” and weighing between 160 and 180 pounds.
Leverne suffered from dementia, which led to a Silver Alert being issued on August 8, 2017, as he was considered vulnerable due to his cognitive impairment. Despite extensive searches by the Waxahachie Police Department and other agencies, including the deployment of search dogs and volunteers, no significant leads emerged. Leverne was known for his kind, approachable nature and was often seen smiling and chatting with neighbors.
