In the late summer of 2017, a 50-year-old man named Steven Craig Browder was last seen in Jennings, a city in St. Louis County, Missouri. The exact date of his last contact was August 17, 2017. However, the alarm wasn't raised for several months. It wasn't until March of the following year, 2018, that family members grew concerned after being unable to get in touch with him.
When they went to check on him at his apartment located in the 8800 block of Lucas and Hunt Road, they were unable to find him, and he was officially reported as a missing person on March 6, 2018.
Steven, a Black male, was described as being 5'10' and weighing around 240 pounds. He had short black hair and brown eyes. A distinct physical characteristic was a birthmark on the inside of his right forearm. At the time of his disappearance, it was noted that he had a mental health diagnosis and it was believed that he had not been taking his prescribed medication for some time. The clothing he was wearing at the time he went missing is unknown. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance were, and remain, unclear.

Authorities discovered that Steven's vehicle had been located and towed as an abandoned vehicle from the Illinois side of the McKinley Bridge.
