In the late spring of 2018, the life of a 33-year-old construction worker and father of six, Marqualus Davis, took a devastating and mysterious turn. Known to his loved ones as a kindhearted man and nicknamed “Little Michael Jordan” in his youth, his family describes him as a dedicated father who would never willingly abandon his children. On June 15, 2018, Marqualus, a Black male with black hair and brown eyes, was last seen in Clarksville, Tennessee. His last known location was a Marathon gas station, situated at the intersection of Preachers Mill Road and 101st Airborne Division Parkway. The events of that day, captured partially on surveillance footage, would become the focal point of a heart-wrenching mystery that has left his family searching for answers for years.
The circumstances surrounding Marqualus's disappearance are troubling. On that Friday, he arrived at the gas station in a red and white truck.
While there, he was involved in a physical altercation with another individual, though details about this confrontation have not been made public. Surveillance video from the station shows Marqualus entering the establishment to use the restroom. After exiting, he is seen walking toward the rear of the building, in the direction of the dumpsters, and then out of the camera's view. This was the last time he was physically seen. Although he reportedly sent text messages after leaving the gas station, investigators have been unable to make contact with anyone who spoke with him that evening. His family's concern grew into alarm when he remained out of contact through Father's Day, which fell on June 17, as it was highly uncharacteristic of him to not be in touch with his family, especially his children.
In the days and weeks that followed, the Clarksville community rallied around the Davis family. A gathering was held at Heritage Park where nearly 100 people came together to pray and offer support, a testament to the love for Marqualus and the shared hope for his safe return. His mother, Kim Davis, has been a steadfast advocate for her son, pleading with the public for any information that might lead to a breakthrough in the case. The Clarksville Police Department has been investigating his disappearance, and foul play is suspected. Despite the passage of time, the case remains an open and active investigation, a painful and unresolved chapter for a family that desires closure.
