On the evening of July 28, 2018, 42-year-old Rhonda Faye Day left her grandmother's home in Lebanon Junction, Kentucky, around 9:00 p.m. She was heading to a friend's house in the Pleasure Ridge Park area of Louisville. Sometime between 10:30 and 11:00 p.m., she called her grandmother to let her know she wouldn't be returning home until about 4:00 a.m. the next morning. This was the last time her family ever heard from her.
According to her friend, Rhonda left his residence at daybreak on the morning of July 29, 2018. When she didn't come home, her family grew deeply concerned, as this was out of character for her. She had left behind her phone charger and her beloved cat, indicating she intended to return.
A few days later, on August 3, 2018, Rhonda's blue Chevrolet Aveo was discovered abandoned in the 8600 block of Cane Run Road, approximately a mile from her friend's house. There was no sign of Rhonda at the scene. At the time of her disappearance, Rhonda was described as a 42-year-old Caucasian female, standing 5'4" tall and weighing around 185 pounds, with blonde hair and green eyes. She was last seen wearing a black tank top, black shorts, a black baseball cap, and black flip-flops. She was also carrying a large black purse. Rhonda sometimes wore dark-framed eyeglasses or contact lenses.
The years following Rhonda Day's disappearance have been filled with anguish and uncertainty for her family. The Louisville Metro Police Department, along with the Lebanon Junction Police Department, are investigating her case, which is considered to be a suspicious disappearance. Despite numerous searches and ongoing investigative efforts, no significant leads have emerged to explain what happened to her after she left her friend's home. Her family continues to hold out hope, pleading for anyone with even the smallest piece of information to come forward.
