Samantha Sayers, 27, went missing on August 1, 2018, while on a solo hike to Vesper Peak in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, Washington. Sayers, an experienced hiker, was last seen by other climbers around 2 p.m. near the summit. She did not return as expected, prompting her boyfriend, Kevin Dares, to raise the alarm later that evening. Her car was found at the trailhead, but there was no sign of her on the mountain.
