On August 16, 1971, an 11-year-old girl named Phyllis Gilliam vanished from Columbia, South Carolina, leaving behind a mystery that has endured for decades. That day, Phyllis was at her grandmother's apartment in the 2100 block of Saxon Plaza. She left the residence to walk to a dry cleaning plant located in the 2300 block of Reed Street.
