On May 2, 1981, a 16-year-old male named Kurtis 'Kurt' Buree Wyatt was working aboard the 'Yardarm Knot,' a fish processing vessel, in the challenging waters of the Bering Sea. The vessel was located approximately 80 miles west of Port Moeller, Alaska, when Kurtis was last seen.
