Patricia Hertell, age 39, disappeared on August 8, 1981, after departing from the Martinez Marina in California for a fishing trip with William Hartenstien. The pair were headed to Suisun Bay. Their boat was later discovered by a fisherman on August 11, 1981, near channel marker #8 in the bay. Tragically, Hartenstien's body was found on August 14, washed up on the north shore, about 1.5 miles east of the Glen Cove Marina. However, Patricia was never located.
