Patricia Hertell, age 39, disappeared on August 8, 1981, after departing from the Martinez Marina in California for a fishing trip with William Hartenstien. The pair were headed to Suisun Bay. Their boat was later discovered by a fisherman on August 11, 1981, near channel marker #8 in the bay. Tragically, Hartenstien's body was found on August 14, washed up on the north shore, about 1.5 miles east of the Glen Cove Marina. However, Patricia was never located.
Authorities have not determined what exactly happened to Patricia after the boat was found, and despite search efforts, she remains missing. The circumstances surrounding their disappearance remain unclear, but her case continues to be classified as a missing persons case, with foul play not entirely ruled out.
Her case remains open, and investigators urge anyone with information to contact the Solano County Sheriff's Office.
