Nicholas Shinn Missing Person Case

On June 15, 2003, 18-year-old Nicholas "Nick" Harley Shinn was last seen at the Wedgewood Apartments in Ripley, West Virginia. At the time of his disappearance, he was living with his older brother and sister-in-law in the apartment complex, which was located behind the West Ripley Shopping Plaza. Nicholas, who grew up in Jackson County and attended Ravenswood High School, has not been seen or heard from since he walked away from the apartment. He left behind all of his personal belongings.

Shinn is a white male with sandy brown hair and blue eyes. At the time he went missing, he was described as being 5'7" tall and weighing approximately 135 pounds. He has a piercing in his eyebrow. When last seen, Nicholas was reportedly wearing baggy jeans and a baseball cap.

The circumstances surrounding Nicholas Shinn's disappearance are complicated by a severe flood that was impacting the region at the time. Mill Creek, located near the apartment complex, was dangerously swollen with high, fast-moving water. In the years since he vanished, rumors have persisted that he may have accidentally fallen or been pushed into the turbulent creek. However, these theories have never been substantiated, and his case remains an unsolved and painful mystery for his loved ones.

Despite the passage of time, the investigation into what happened to Nicholas Shinn is still open. There has been very little media coverage or new information released by law enforcement over the years, leaving his family with unanswered questions.
