Exelina Hernandez, a 31-year-old woman from El Salvador, disappeared on November 1, 2013, after entering the United States through Texas. Fleeing from the dangers posed by gangs in her home country, she embarked on a harrowing journey, hoping to reunite with her family in Dallas. After crossing the U.S.-Mexico border, Exelina called her family to inform them that she had reached Brownsville, Texas, and planned to make her way to Dallas.
