Alex Michael LaRussa, 25, was last seen on December 8, 2017, in Salina, Kansas. That evening, he visited his mother and was spotted near Iron and Ohio Streets around 9:30 p.m. Alex, who had recently undergone a leg amputation, used a wheelchair for mobility. He was driving a tan 2004 Ford Explorer at the time of his disappearance. Despite extensive efforts to locate him, he was reported missing by his family a week later, on December 15, 2017.
On January 14, 2018, Alex's vehicle was discovered abandoned on a farm near New Cambria, Kansas, about seven miles from Salina. Inside the vehicle, authorities found his wheelchair, phone, and some clothing, but there was no sign of Alex. His sudden disappearance, coupled with the presence of his personal items in the vehicle, has led investigators to suspect foul play.
Alex had recently moved from Great Bend to Salina to be closer to his family after the amputation. Despite multiple searches and ongoing investigations, no significant leads have emerged, and his case remains unsolved.
