In the spring of 2018, a 28-year-old mother named Nancy Troche-Garcia seemingly vanished from her life in Asheboro, North Carolina. On May 19, 2018, she spent part of the day at a child's birthday party with her infant daughter, where friends reported that nothing seemed out of the ordinary.
