On January 8, he was last seen wearing blue jeans, a blue sweatshirt, and a black leather jacket. He also wore a gold watch. His planned trip, however, took an unforeseen and alarming turn when he never arrived in Georgia, sparking concern among his loved ones and initiating a missing person investigation.
His vehicle, a white 2012 Chevrolet Traverse with Texas license plate KXH 8707, was also reported missing with him.
The days that followed his disappearance were filled with uncertainty for his family. Tracy was described as a Black male, standing at five feet five inches tall and weighing between 150 and 170 pounds. He had brown hair, which was balding, and brown eyes. Distinctive features included a scar on his right arm and a recent, still-pink scar on his chin from a fall. He also had several tattoos: the name “Lummie” on his inner right arm, the names of his children, “Tracy Jr., LeDarryl, Quincy, Demario, and Alexis,” on his back, and a “Remy Martin Bootle sign” on his left arm. A reward was offered by his family for any information that would lead to his safe return.
As the investigation continued, a possible but unconfirmed sighting of Tracy was reported in Flora, Mississippi, at a grocery store on January 22, 2019, offering a sliver of hope. Ultimately, the search for Tracy Wright came to a positive conclusion. The Fort Worth Police Department reported that he had been found alive. While the specific details and the exact date of his recovery have not been publicly disclosed, the news brought an end to the period of distress for his family and community.
